40 years ago at a small camp in Maine I sat down in front of a large kickwheel and threw my first pot. It was a small bowl which could have served as a paper weight.
Over the years I continued to learn at community art centers and wherever I could find access.
What was a hobby became a career.
In 2012 I founded Indigo Fire Studio, The next 5 years were a whirlwind of teaching and building a business. In 2018 I sold Indigo Fire to the current owner, Ned, where it continues to thrive.
Currently, I am the Director of ArtSpace where I work to create more opportunities and access to the arts. On the weekends I get in my own studio at Western Ave. It is a perfect balance.
My love for ceramics runs deep. I love the nature of clay and how it can be forgiving and repurposed. At my core, I am an optimist. My work is functional and meant to be used daily.
Some of my pottery and Block Print linens are for available for purchase on my sell Etsy shop Suchi's Table.
These days I live north of Boston with my family in a small town with cow pasteurs and woods.
